My idea that I would like to grow is Healthcare related. In short I would like to apply the Pharmaceutical Benefit Management (PBM) business model to the general Healthcare Field. Right now I am an account manager at CVS/Caremark a Pharmaceutical Benefit Management Company. When someone goes to a pharmacy with their insurance card they give it to the pharmacist, they plug the info into the computer and get an instant adjudication with the cost with virtually one system. In the broader Healthcare field a doctor has to submit a claim to each individual insurance company with different requirements and systems. A company could use the same general business model of the PBM to the broader Healthcare field and streamline claims processing for every doctor’s office; more importantly this technology would open up the Health Insurance field to real competition. What this model would do is taking upon its self all of the back of house work load of starting an health insurance company.
