Non Profit K-12 school which will teach students things which they will actually find useful in their adult lives and which are neglected by most other schools. Our curriculum will thus include, in addition to the traditional academic subjects, lessons and discussions in critical thinking, emotional intelligence, financial and media literacy, learning how to fix appliances, wilderness survival skills, and many other things. We are targeting children from all socio economic groups. An interesting point, I feel, is that we will be attractive to very successful parents, many of whom know that their success had very little to do with the academic education that they received in school. While these particular individuals obviously didn't need Useful School to become successful, we can help similar young adults avoid pitfalls that trap even the wealthiest kids - for example, bad decisions involving personal relationships, bad habits, and so on.
